Losing a crown or cap is another common minor emergency. If it has not been swallowed, bring it with you to the dental office. Cleaning out the tooth and crown and reseating it are usually all that is required.

Trauma: Loosened or Knocked-out Teeth
Trauma to the mouth is another serious emergency.
If a tooth has been knocked out or loosened, it is important to be seen right away. Rinse the tooth in warm water and do not touch the root. Put it in a small container of milk or salt water and bring it with you. Dr. Shah will advise you on whether or not the tooth can be restored in the socket.
